The most unusual houses in the world are the buildings of Frank Gehry.

Frank Owen Gehry (real name Ephraim Owen Goldberg) is one of the greatest architects of our time (born February 28, 1929).
The buildings of Frank Gehry are outstanding structures that are simply impossible not to notice. No straight walls, no classic buildings. Curved and broken lines, wavy facades, non-standard architectural forms and unusual materials - this is Gehry's style. He is also called the "Genius of Deconstructivism".
At the dawn of his career, Gehry went through a period of "paper architecture" - he embodied all his ideas with the help of paper. Thus, his own style was developed.
The embodiment of this very "paper architecture" can be considered part of the New Customs complex in Düsseldorf . The complex itself is called the Art and Media Center of the Rhine Harbour. One of these buildings looks like sheets of paper folded into a tube and placed on asphalt.

And the entire "Center ..." consists of three buildings. And they are all designed by Frank Gehry.
One, the largest, is a white building. The second is red. And between them is a mirror, in the wavy walls of which the two previous ones are reflected.
The buildings were built in 1996-1998, which was a very bold decision for those years.
Frank Gehry never works with computers and only designs by hand. To realize his incredible ideas, he gathers around him the same professionals who love their job. For example, the Walt Disney Concert Hall is the result of the work of 60 engineers, modelers, and graphic artists.
Like any Frank Gehry building, the Walt Disney Concert Hall (2003) immediately became one of the main attractions of Los Angeles. Once again the architect's favorite curved lines and stainless steel. The impressive building consists of the concert hall itself, designed for 2265 seats, as well as a restaurant, cafe, souvenir and bookstores.

New York by Gehry is a 76-story skyscraper in Lower Manhattan near the Brooklyn Bridge. The height of the building is 265 meters, which makes it one of the tallest residential buildings in the world.
On the lower 4 floors there is an elementary school, and above - about 900 apartments. Interestingly, all apartments are rented out, but none of the premises are for sale (rental cost is from $3,000 to $15,000).
The building was commissioned in 2011, and reinforced concrete and stainless steel were used in the construction.
The facade is made in the form of curved lines, reminiscent of sea waves.

Another Frank Gehry building in New York is located in the Chelsea district in the western part of Manhattan, not far from another New York landmark - High Line .
The building is owned by InterActive Corp, which owns various brands on the chain.
Like any Gehry building, the IAC Building is impossible to miss! The building was built in 2007, but it is still considered one of the most beautiful. In 2015, Vanity Fair magazine named it the most beautiful office building in New York!
This 10-story building resembles a ship whose sails are filled with wind. This is especially true when you consider that it is located next to the Hudson River embankment.

Another Frank Gehry office building is located in Basel, Switzerland. This is the administrative building of the Novartis pharmaceutical concern (2009). This time, Gehry did not use his favorite material - stainless steel, but used glass. Unusual shapes, smooth lines, glass surfaces - this is how Gehry saw this office. The architect also used his idea of openness in organizing the interior space, where the only boundaries were glass partitions separating the office blocks.

The Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas (2010) is somehow, in principle, difficult to call a building. It's not just curved lines. Here is a complete breakdown of stereotypes and architectural forms. The center consists of 2 buildings, which are often called "two hemispheres of the brain." One of them consists of white rectangular blocks offset from each other (they can't be one above the other, it's Gehry). There is a research center here. And in the second, steel, which has a very bizarre design, there is a Center for vital activity.

Well, then try to make claims to the builders that the walls are not even! :))
There are many more buildings designed by Frank Gehry. And each of them is unique and unusual!
